Bihar & Bengal Harvest Calendar 2026 — When Each Fruit Ships
By Baageecha by Bargee Farms · April 2026 · 4 min read
Each of the three fruits in the Baageecha range has a narrow, non-negotiable seasonal window. Unlike commercially available fruits that can be stored and sold year-round, the Jardalu Mango, Shahi Litchi, and Malda Mango are harvested and dispatched fresh — no cold storage warehousing, no off-season availability.
This calendar tells you exactly when each fruit ships, when pre-orders close, and what you need to know to not miss your window.
Season at a Glance — 2026
| Fruit | Harvest Window | Ships | Pre-Order Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shahi Litchi | Late May – Late June | Late May 2026 | May 15, 2026 |
| Jardalu Mango | Mid June – Late July | Mid June 2026 | June 5, 2026 |
| Malda Mango | Mid June – Late July | Mid June 2026 | June 5, 2026 |
| Langda Mango | Late June – Early August | Late June 2026 | June 15, 2026 |
Note: All dates are subject to actual weather and orchard conditions. We communicate any changes via WhatsApp to all pre-order customers.
Shahi Litchi — Late May to Late June
The Shahi Litchi from Muzaffarpur, Bihar is the first to ripen each season. The harvest begins in late May and the peak window — when the pulp is at maximum sweetness and fragrance — is approximately 10–14 days within that window.
Unlike mango, litchi ripens in stages across a tree. This means adoption customers receive multiple smaller batches across the harvest window. Box order customers receive a single batch at peak quality.
Why the deadline matters: Once the litchi allocation for the season is committed, we cannot add orders. The orchard capacity is fixed. If you want Shahi Litchi in 2026, pre-order before May 15.
Jardalu Mango — Mid June to Late July
The Jardalu Mango (also called Zardalu) from Bhagalpur, Bihar is the rarest of the three. The entire harvest window is approximately 6 weeks. Outside of this window, there is no Jardalu available anywhere in the country from a certified Bhagalpur source.
We pick at the optimal stage — slightly firm, just turning golden — and dispatch within 24 hours. With refrigerated transit, the mango arrives at your door during the natural ripening window. Each box includes a ripening guide.
When to order: Pre-orders open in April and close when allocation is filled or by June 5, whichever comes first. Last season, allocation was filled before the deadline. Order early.
Malda Mango — Mid June to Late July
The Malda Mango — the heritage Dudhiya variety from Malda, Bengal — runs alongside Jardalu through mid-summer, with the Langda harvest from Banaras taking the season into early August. Ordering across varieties gives you continuous heritage fruit from late May through early August.
Malda is characterised by its paper-thin skin, zero fibre, and a milk-like (Dudhiya) creaminess that is distinctly different from Jardalu. It ships from mid June through late July and is available in 3kg, 5kg, and 10kg options.
Can I order all three?
Yes. Because the seasons are staggered — Shahi Litchi from late May, Jardalu and Malda from mid June, and Langda through July into early August — ordering across varieties gives you roughly 10 weeks of continuous heritage fruit delivery. You can add each variety to your cart separately and they will ship as each harvest comes in.
What if I miss the pre-order window?
Once allocation is filled, we do not take additional orders for that variety in that season. The harvest is finite. If your order isn't in before the fruit is committed, you wait until Season 2027.
The best way to not miss your window is to pre-order as early as possible. Pre-orders placed now are the first to receive allocation and the first boxes dispatched on harvest day.
All three varieties. All three seasons. One orchard.
Shahi Litchi from ₹750. Jardalu Mango from ₹649. Malda Mango from ₹849. Limited allocation — first come, first served.
